Pikes Peak Longears Association
is a group of people that have a love of our long eared friends. Our aim
is to promote the donkey and mule, educate the public on just how versatile
they are and above all, share in fun and camaraderie while we share our
knowledge with each other. |
| |
Some of the
ways we do this is with: |
|
| |
Trail riding
Parades
Demonstrations
Breeding |
Overnight campouts
Clinics
Shows
Driving |

PPLEA was started in 1995
when a mule owner noticed that it was no longer a huge surprise to see
mules in the fields around his home. The mule was gaining rapidly in popularity
so he put the word out about a meeting to possibly start a club and was
amazed at the response.
Since then the club has kept active and seen results in the public response
to mules. When we first rode in the Pikes Peak or Bust Parade it was “look
more horses” that we heard; now it is “here come the mules”. |

Our members have both mules
and donkeys and are interested in all kinds of activities. Most of all,
we all agree the first objective is to understand and have fun with our
long eared friends and that we surely do.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU JOIN US! |
